Take this one off your list:
Skin Deep gave Johnson’s Moisture Care Gift Set a shocking 9 out of 10 on the toxicity scale. It’s no wonder, when many of Johnson’s baby products come with the warning, “Keep Out of Reach of Children.” Hmmmm…
Of course, children shouldn’t be playing all alone with lotion or any other personal care product. But, a product should really be safe enough to ingest if it’s being used on a child’s largest organ (the skin).
Ooh, one more product just because it’s so ridiculous: Johnson’s Baby Cologne.
Seriously? Cologne for babies? Does it come with grease to slick back your infant’s hair and a large, gold pinky ring? Here’s the ingredient label for this one (Skin Deep scored it a “6”):
Water, Polysorbate 20, Trideceth-9, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Fragrance, Sodium Benzoate, Phenoxyethanol, Citric Acid, Propylene Glycol, Tetrasodium EDTA, Simethicone, Ext. Violet 2, Blue 1
And the warning label is a bit concerning (who doesn’t have allergies in the family?):
Keep out of reach of children. Do not use without consulting a doctor if your child has asthma or allergies or if there is a family history of either. Serious breathing problems could occur. Keep in a cool place protected from direct sunlight.
Visit the “Baby Care” section of Skin Deep to find safer products to give as gifts or for your own little one (look for the products with the green bubble next to them).
Much love 🙂 Create a beautiful weekend!
